Awesomeness

This is brilliant. Just sayin'

Watercolor Wash with Line Art

I actually liked some of these, and didn't mind the process of creating. Using a wash to get the color and shadow of the illustration down, then going over it with line art to add some definition and clarity was really good. Made the watercolor feel a lot more tidy and look better too. I liked the Mountain and three tree pictures the best. Both simple, and look kinda good.

In Class Session 2

So another in class session, and I actually got all three illustrations finished... Kinda. Okay, so the third one isn't completely done, but I made a good try at it. I found it incredibly hard to try and recreate the feathers of the bird, and the overall textured look it had. Personally, I think the last one kinda looks like a Pidgey from pokemon :( http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/77/439068-pidgey_pic01_large.gif

Anyway, the illustrations I do in class look better than the ones done inside my own time, which is likely due to the time I can spend on them and my own patience.

Watercolor Architecture

SO.... Yeah. I don't like drawing architecture, much less painting it with watercolor. Everyone of these images are somewhat blurry and not very well defined. I haven't yet grasped the ability to create very clear watercolor illustrations yet. Most of these I just experimented with, trying different techniques. MOST of them failed. I didn't like any of these in particular, so hopefully with time I will improve.

In Class Session 1

These are the two watercolor illustrations that I got down in our first class session. I'm actually kinda happy with the first one, sure it has problems but there's some definite improvement there. Made good use of the sponge for the leaf effect, but you can see the branches clearly though he green which I don't like. I tried to focus on the tree only, so the background is left blurry and undefined. For the second one, I tried some more surreal colors and tried to refine the technique some more. I used a brush for the leaves instead of a sponge.

Watercolor Landscapes

Well... these SUCK. First attempt with watercolors went fairly horribly. And I didn't even managed to get 10 done. I blame it on how long it took the pages to dry, and at some points I did get impatient. Most of these are fairly horrible, especially the 'Terry' style house that didn't even get finished. I thought the fourth one with the fence wasn't absolutely horrible. At least it actually looked like something :/
